& Percussion Consultant
Chris Dufault - Chris joined the Muchachos staff in the fall of 2007. Chris has been involved in the Drum Corps community as a player and a teacher for over 30 years. He has been involved with the 27th Lancers, Boston Crusaders, Fitchburg Kingsmen, Leicester Satellites, Gardner High School, along with other local New England groups. He also gives private lessons in the Massachusetts area. In 2006, Chris finished a 20 year stint as Percussion Caption Head with the Spartans of Nashua, NH, during which time he helped the Spartans win several DCI Division II World Championships and a percussion title. Chris currently lives in Fitchburg, MA.
Gary Gosselin
Percussion Caption Head
Gary Gosselin - Gary started his marching career in 1977 at the age of seven with the Gauchos Jr. Drum & Bugle corps in Manchester, NH. When Gary was old enough, in 1980, he moved up to the Muchachos Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps where he marched until 1984. In 1985 Gary joined the Spartans Jr. Drum & Bugle Corps, where he marched until 1989. In 1990, Gary joined the Boston Crusaders, where he would eventually age out in 1991.
Gary's teaching experience includes Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, NH, 1990 and 1991; Reading High School from Reading Massachusetts, 1993; and the Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps, 1993-1996 and 1998-2000. In 2000, Gary stepped back from the drum corps activity to concentrate on other activities, including teaching at Salem High School in Salem, NH from 2000 to 2003. While at Salem High School, Gary started the Salem Indoor Winter Percussion Program that is still in existence today.
From 2004 to 2009, Gary stepped away from teaching all together to help raise his three children with his wife Susan. In 2009, Gary joined the winter percussion staff at Bishop Guertin High School where he taught the winter percussion program for two seasons. Gary is currently the percussion caption head at Londonderry High School in Londonderry NH.
In his off time, Gary likes to spend time with his wife and kids. He also likes to golf and coach his children's sports teams.
Joshua Champagne, Percussion Instructor - Josh was a percussionist in United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps from 1999-2003, while serving in South Carolina. He served as the percussion section leader for two years. After serving in the military, he returned home to Maine to pursue a double degree in Music Education and Computer Science. He has taught high school marching bands and percussion sections in Southern Maine for the past 7 years. As a percussionist, he has studied with Nancy Smith, principle percussionist of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, and serves as percussion section leader and coordinator for the University of Southern Maine. He currently works with the Marshwood High School drum line as well as Coastal Tech Indoor Percussion during the winter.
He is a native of Maine and currently lives and teaches privately in Portland, ME.
Jason Corriea, Front Ensemble Instructor - As Front Ensemble Instructor, Jason teaches accessory and mallet instruments, such as the marimba. Jason is originally from Manchester and is a 2005 graduate of Manchester's Memorial High School. Jason graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2010 with a degree in music education.
