Helen Taylor, Guard Caption Head - Helen marched with the Boston Crusaders from 1976 to 1978 in the colorguard's flag and rifle sections and taught the guard from 1987 to 1990. A Board of Directors member from 1991-1992, Helen was inducted into the Boston Crusaders Hall of Fame in 2008. Helen has taught several drum corps and high school colorguards and is currently the Colorguard Director for Bishop Feehan High School Band in Attleboro, MA.

Joan Joly
Color Guard Instructor

Joan Joly, Color Guard Instructor - Joan marched with Simplex Minutemen Drum and Bugle Corps of Gardner, MA from 1976 to 1981, first as a mellophone player and then on French Horn. In 1983, Joan marched with the World Champion Garfield Cadets of Garfield, NJ. In 1984, Joan joined the staff of Granite State Garrison of Keene, NH as a marching instructor and visual technician. In 1985, Joan took on the roles of caption head and instructor of the color guard, creating and teaching flag routines, helping the corps win the Eastern Massachusetts Class "B" Championships in its second year. Joan is a performing member of the Muchachos, having marched in the Corps' field shows in 2010 and 2011 and continuing to perform with the Corps in parades. She is a graduate of Worcester State University, Worcester, MA and currently resides in North Central Massachusetts.
